New (ish) Paintings - Previously Unposted
I have mostly finished with the 12" x 12" works and am now devoting my efforts towards larger paintings. The plan is to see what happens when I let these patterns run wild on a larger surface.
Busted!
Thanks to Eileen for this wonderful picture. I am setting up to take photos of my work. I shot all of the 12" square paintings including a few that have not previously been posted here or my website: samuelwukusick.weebly.com . I have posted them all now in the gallery section and I will post the new ones above.

The Studio Where I'm Painting Now
After successfully changing the language on my replacement iPod from German to English, I fired up the Grandaddy tunes and got to work. I switched buildings a few months back due to a building code malfunction at the old one. So here I am bringing it all back home in this cozy abode a few blocks from my apartment. Thanks to Eileen for the photo.

A Gallery of My Work
As I've been working on this blog, I have also been developing a website that has galleries and some info about me. The idea is that this site will be for new works, news, thoughts, works in progress, etc. and the other site will be a more formal presentation of finished works and professional info.

The Ones that -Almost- Got Away
So that's my painting experience in a nutshell...

Other works from the studio.
Here are the second and third attempts at doing a painting in one sesssion. The advantage of doing these single-session paintings is that it speeds up my decision making so I can see what my tendencies are and assess my strengths and weaknesses. I'm always a little hesitant to stop working on something and declare it "finished," so imposing this kind of deadline on a painting forces me to address those qualms.
I undertook this experiment specifically to create three paintings for the ArtBox Show at Bering & James Gallery (http://www.beringandjames.com/), but now I'm thinking of continuing the series as a way to keep experimenting. I'm undecided about whether I want to keep working on 12"x12" wooden panels or if I want to switch size and material. I guess that will be the topic of another post.
Happy Monday,
Sam

Hurry up and Wait.
The paintings that I described in my previous post are not ready yet. I'll get pictures of those up as soon as I get a chance. I don't think anyone has been holding their breath waiting for them, but I do want to go ahead and post some pictures, just so there is something new to look at. These are some sketches that are providing the basis for the paintings I am working on right now.
